Personal Branding: telling your story using social media
Casey Quinlan of Mighty Casey Media was the guest speaker at Career Prospectors on June 16. Casey promotes personal branding from the perspective of developing statements and stories that really communicate the unique value that each person brings to a relationship. Casey encourages everyone to be authentic, find the skills and talent that differentiate them and define their brand, and “just be yourself, because everyone else is taken.”
I first met Casey at a Tech Now event for job seekers, 4-5 months ago. I have had the pleasure of hearing her dynamic and entertaining presentations at a 2nd Tech Now event, a Virginia Career Network event, and more recently, at the Career Prospectors – West End. Even though I have heard Casey several times now, I always enjoy her presentations, pick up a few new tips, and am motivated by her message: find your “thunder”, tell your story, and build your brand using social media.
